STEM Snapshot: August 12-September 6, 2019

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! My name is Ms. Naomi Meredith and I am RHL's Kindergarten-5th grade STEM teacher. (You can learn more about me by clicking here.) During the Integrated Arts Rotation (specials), your child comes to STEM 3 times a month, for 45 minute sessions.

This year, they will also receive an additional bonus 40 minute STEM time once every three weeks.

For this first month, all grade levels dove into digital citizenship.  We will continue to refer back to these topics year round. While technology tools are going to change, students will still always need strong skills to interact appropriately online, be kind and keep themselves safe.

STEM Snapshot: April 1-26, 2019

Students have been taking on the role as a Local Collaborator and practicing their collaboration skills through two different stations; LEGO Education Kits & Robots. Over time, the tools are of going to change, but the life skills will always be important such as following directions in order, making changes when things don’t work the first time, and working with others who might not be our best friend.

Here are the tools that students have been exposed to and practiced with. You may have seen some of it in action in your child’s Seesaw account!
